Looking ahead into October, Intel not only announced its financial results for Q3 2020, but it also revealed that it plans to release its latest Rocket Lake CPUs with PCIe 4.0 sometime in Q1 2021. Along with Rocket Lake, there will be a wave of new 500-series LGA1200 motherboards to accompany it, but until then, Z490 is its current flagship chipset and will be for months to come.
